What is JEXPO
JEXPO is the polytechnic entrance exam conducted by the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education every academic year.
It is the admission process for state level admissions in West Bengal. All the candidates who want to take admission into reputed colleges and universities for Architecture, Pharmacy and Engineering courses have to apply for JEXPO.
This is only applicable for undergraduate courses in West Bengal. The last date for applying for Undergraduate courses is 15th April 2020.
Seats are allocated based on merit and candidates are required to write an entrance exam to secure their seats.
The merit score will include an aggregate of the marks obtained by the candidate in 10th grade.
JEXPO 2020 Examination & Important Dates
Online Application dates-:
Starting Date- 2nd January 2020
Closing date- 15th April 2020
The examination was postponed from 26th April and a new date is yet to be announced.
JEXPO 2020 Application Fee
Candidates can apply both online and offline.
The fee for online application is Rs 450 for regular candidates and Rs.225 for Kanyashree enrollees
The fee for Offline Application is Rs.500 and Rs.250 for Kanyashree enrollees
JEXPO 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Nationality: Only Indian national can apply for this exam
Qualifying Exam: The candidate should have successfully completed his/her 10th board exams or its equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
Qualifying Subjects: In the aforementioned exams the candidate should have appeared for the subjects of English, Mathematics and Science or Physical science mandatorily.
Qualifying Marks: The candidates applying for any of the courses must have obtained a minimum of 35% marks in the qualifying exam or 10th grade.
Appearing: Candidates who are currently appearing for their 10th grade exam can also apply. Admission will be provided on a provisional basis and will be secured only after results are declared.
Age Criteria: The applying candidate should be 14 years or older as on July 1, 2020. There is no upper age limit for appearing for this exam.
JEXPO 2020 Admit Card
Only those candidates who have successfully completed the registration process for JEXPO 2020 will receive their Admit cards in the month of May 2020.
The admit cards will be published online and can be downloaded by the candidates. Candidates are supposed to visit the official website and enter their login details that were used during registration to download the admit card.
Physical copies of the admit card will not be provided by the board.
The admit card is a must for appearing for the exam. The candidates will have to carry their admit cards to their centers without which they will not be able to write the exam.
Apart from the admit card a valid photo id proof is also needed for identity verification. Candidates can contact officials in case of any errors in the admit card.
JEXPO 2020 Exam Pattern
Exam Mode: Candidates will have to use the pen and paper mode. The JEXPO 2020 Entrance exam will be conducted offline.
Number of Papers: candidates will have to attempt two papers. Paper I of the test will be for the subject of Mathematics and Paper II for Physics and Chemistry.
Number and Type of Questions: The entrance test will be completely objective based and will have 100 questions.
Language: The candidates can appear the exam in either English or Bengali depending upon their preference.
Time Duration: candidates will be allotted a total of two hours to complete the paper. There will be no extra time provided under any circumstances.
Total Marks: The students will be marked out of 100.
Marking Scheme: Each question will carry one mark and candidates can score one mark for each question they answer correctly.
Negative Marking: This exam will have negative marking and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

JEXPO 2020 Syllabus
The exam will have questions ranging from English comprehension to all the subjects the candidate has studied in 10th grade according to West Bengal Board syllabus.
For Admission into engineering and pharmacy and architecture programmes, JEXPO exam will contain questions from the core subjects of PCM-Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.
JEXPO 2020 Merit List/Result
The results for JEECUP 2020 will be tentatively announced in June 2020. Results will be declared online and can be checked and downloaded by the candidates using their allotted roll numbers.
The results will show you if you have qualified or not along with your total score. Only those candidates who have attended all the exams will be a part of the merit list. If candidates receive a zero for any of the subject papers they will not be shortlisted.
Individual rank cards will noy be provided to all candidates. The counselling process will begin shortly after the results are declared and shortlisted candidates will be called for the same.
JEXPO 2020 Application Form
JEXPO 2020 Application Form is available on the official website from 2nd January 2020.
The last date to fill the form and submit it is 15th April 2020.
Candidates are provided an opinion to fill the application form either through online or through offline mode.
After successfully registering themselves the candidates have to fill in all the necessary details and upload their latest photograph. After this they can proceed to pay the application fees.
The candidates who are unable to apply online are provided with an offline mode of application. The Candidate can visit their nearest polytechnic institutions that affiliated to WBSCTE to collect the form and apply thereafter
Candidates will be allotted different polytechnic centres where they have to submit their application forms. The candidates should be careful to fill the OMR correctly.
Make sure to fill the form correctly and completely to prevent rejection.
It is advisable to fill one form at a time as multiple applications from the same candidate stand a chance of being rejected by the board.

JEXPO 2020 Counselling Process
The counselling process for JEXPO 2020 will tentatively begin in June 2020 after the results are announced.
Depending upon the performance and ranking of the candidate in the entrance exam they will be called for the Counselling Process. Seat allocation is done on the basis of merit and reservation policy.
The candidates with the highest ranking will get their preferred course easily. As the seats fill up, other candidates may have to opt for their second or third choice.
The candidates are to fill their course of preference beforehand online.
During the counselling process the candidates have to bring and submit the original copies of their documents to secure their seats.
Reserved category certificates and sports certificates are mandatory if applying under any quota. Their documents will be verified after which seats will be allocated.
If the candidate is unable to produce the documents on the required date then their admission will be cancelled. The seat will then be offered to the next eligible candidate.
