I have an Apple watch that I have been using on and off for couple of years now. While I like the device for walking and general notifications, sometimes I do run into few glitches.

One of the issues that I have personally faced is the Apple watch won’t swipe up issue which seems to come and go.

Change watch face to default

According to many people on the internet, changing the watch’s face to default has got them rid of the problem of the Apple watch not swiping up. For changing the watch’s face to default just follow the below mentioned steps: 

• Go to the Crown icon or go to the Watch Display.
• Swipe right or left from any one side of the screen.
• Now, choose the watch faces and click on the ‘default’ to set the face of the watch to default face.

That’s it. Your Apple watch face is now changed and maybe the problem that the watch wasn’t swiping up gets solved now.

Turn off Haptics

There is a feature of touch haptics on every Apple device.

It sometimes causes problems in the working of the devices, so you can try turning them off and on and see if your problem gets solved or not, according to other users turning haptics off has got them rid of the problem.

The steps to turn the haptics off are as follows : 

• Click on the digital crown icon on your Apple Watch.
• The App View will be opened on the screen, then go on Settings.
• Click on the Sounds & Haptics options in the Settings.
• You will then see the Haptics option, turn the toggle off which will be right next to it.
• Wait for a few seconds and turn it on again.

Restart your watch

Mostly just a restart on any device fixes all sorts of glitches happening.

Restarting a device allows its system to reset all applications and processes so maybe restarting your Apple watch can solve Apple watch won’t swipe up issue. The steps to restart your Apple watch are as follows : 

• Press and hold the button on the side until the power off-screen comes up.
• Drag the slider from left to right to switch off the Watch.
• Wait for a few seconds then press and hold the button on the side till you see the Apple logo.

Remove pairing your iWatch with your iPhone and pair again

If none of the above fixes work then you can also try un-pairing your iWatch with your iPhone and pair them back again.

This can also solve the problem of the Apple watch not swiping up. The process or the steps to unpair the iWatch and iPhone and pair them again is as follows : 

From Settings of the watch 

• Click on the digital crown icon on the iWatch.
• The App View will get opened on the screen, tap on Settings options.
• Tap open the General and scroll down, straight to the bottom and click on the Reset option.
• Now, tap on the Erase All The Content and Settings option.
• Enter the Apple ID password.
• Select the Erase All or Erase all & Keep Plan option for the Apple Watch.

From iPhone by using the watch app  

• Firstly, open the iWatch app on the iOS device.
• Tap on the All Watches option in the My Watch section.
• Tap on the ‘i’ button/icon which will be right next to the watch that you wish to unpair.
• Select the option of Unpair Apple Watch and then confirm it.
• Choose in between whether you want to Keep or Remove Data Plan.
• Finally, enter the Apple ID password and the watch will get unpaired from the iOS device.

Check iWatch version & update 

Iwatch OS launches their updates very frequently to keep their devices function smoothly without any problems or lagging.

Therefore, if the iWatch firmware is not up to date it can for sure cause problems in functioning. So you need to update the iWatch version by following the steps mentioned below : 

• On your iPhone go to the Apple Watch app and open it.
• Click on My Watch.
• Go to the option of General then to Software Update.
•  Then, if any update is available for the iWatch, click on the Download and Install option 
• And the iWatch will get updated.
