• Send in chat means that the picture is being sended in the chat and can be viewed as many times as the viewers want to. Pictures sent in this mode can be seen even after you leave the chat and come back again.

Now taking a screenshot of the picture sent in any of the three modes will definitely trigger the notification and send it to the other user with mentioning the username of the person who took the screenshot of the picture in the chat or chat group. 

The circle drawn with lines on the right corner indicates to the other user that a user took the screenshot of a video or a picture.

When does Instagram notify about a screenshot? 

The only time Instagram will send you a notification which notifies you that a screenshot is taken by another user is when the user takes the screenshot of the picture or video that you have sent in the direct message chat of Instagram.

Taking a screenshot of the chat won’t give any notification to any user or taking a screenshot of someone’s feed, profile or story will also not get notified.

• Once you are finished with doing this the Instagram stories will start appearing in a ‘My Stories’ folder of EmbedStories.

Archive Stories within the Instagram app

Instagram launched the ‘Archive Section’ feature a few years back on its app.

This feature keeps all the stories, photos, videos that you post on stories or on your profile. To enable this option just follow the below mentioned steps : 

• Open your Instagram account and go to your profile page.
• There you will see the three horizontal lines at the top right corner.
• Click on the lines and the setting bar pops up.

If you do not wish to save all Instagram stories, you can also select each story manually. This will be a time taking process but it will be easier if you only need few select stories.

Follow the steps mentioned below:

View your current story.

Tap on the three dots at the bottom of the story and tap on ‘Save.’

Select ‘Save Story’ This will save everything as a single video.

Or select every story in particular to save them separately to your camera roll.

Save Stories in Highlights

This recently introduced feature of Instagram allows its users to save their stories in the form of highlights on their Instagram profile.

Highlights can be made with the active stories or that stories that have already disappeared after 24 hours and you can take them out from the Archived section of Instagram.

Follow the steps mentioned in order to save the pictures or videos as highlights on Instagram itself : 

• Open the Archived stories or go on the active stories.
• Click on the highlight icon at the bottom right corner of the story.
• Either create a new highlight for that story or save it into the existing highlights only, whichever you prefer.
