Gibson stated in an interview with Variety magazine that the producer had passed by him and tapped his leg.
Had he not moved, he would have run into the producer. His led to the infamous altercation and there was verbal exchange as well. He said that he apologized for his behavior the next day.
He has also been said to have clashed on set before this incident as well. It was said that he pushed an assistant director on set. Following this incident, he took anger management classes.
It was also reported by several others who worked with him that he was “verbally abusive” to them.
His co-star in “Criminal Minds” Shemar Moore was also apparently not on good terms with him. Gibson was said to be rude to Moore because Moore used to be late on set.
