QKids is an online education program that teaches students aged from 4 to 12 years and connects teachers from North America to teach English to 5,00,000 Chinese students.
It is a game-based learning platform which uses narration of thousands of English teachers from America and Canada that helps guide students learn English through a fun and dynamic experience.
It delivers a unique learning experience through its patented user-friendly classrooms where families can teach their children at the comfort of their homes.
QKids started in 2015 and the company has offices Beijing, Shenzhen, Xiamen and Guangzhou.
Qkids is considered one of the largest cross-culture online learning companies in the world.

QKids Qualifications for Teachers
QKids has some qualifications and requirements for teachers who want to start teaching on the platform. Some of the QKids Qualifications for Teachers are:
You must be a citizen of the United States or Canada.
If not a citizen, you must have the legal right to work in these 2 countries. QKids server does not work in any other countries other than the USA, Canada, and China, so you must be physically present in one of these 3 countries.
You must hold a bachelor’s degree in any subject and also have a TESOL certification.
You must have experience in working with children for at least 2 years. It could be any workspace where the work involves being around children.
You must have a weekly time commitment of at least 6 hours a week where you will be teaching the students.
QKids Hardware Requirements
In addition to qualifications, there are also some hardware requirements for teaching on QKids.
You must have a computer system with an inbuilt camera or a webcam. you cannot use your iPad to teach children on QKids.
You must also have a headset with a microphone so that the quality of delivering the classes is not compromised
Since the classes are conducted online you must have a stable Internet connection.
Internet connection needs to have a minimum upload of 2 MBPS and a minimum download speed of 4 MBPS.

QKids Application Process
Once you have fulfilled the qualifications and the hardware requirements you can go on with the application process.
Submit all required documents
You need to submit all required documents which include your bachelor’s degree and TESOL certificate. You can also include your certificates of other work experience that you’ve had.
Initial Screening
After submitting your application, an initial screening is done.
At this stage, your application is checked to ensure you meet all the requirements and whether you are qualified for the job.
Once you are shortlisted you will have to give a demo interview.
Demo Interview 1 & 2
After the initial screening you will have two demo interviews.
In demo interview one, you will have to demonstrate your technical skills and how will you manage the video and sound quality.
The demo interview 2 will be for about 25 minutes which will test your teaching skills and personality in a Q&A form.
Background Check
A quick background check is done if you are selected after both the demo interviews, just to make sure that you do not have a criminal background and you haven’t lied in throughout your application process.
Trial Classes
You will be required to teach 2 to 5 actual lessons with students.
After each lesson you will receive feedback on how you can improve the way you deliver the classes.
Contract
After you’ve signed the contract of working with QKids you will be paid a base rate of $8 per lesson.

How much money you can make with QKids will depend on few factors.
Base pay on QKids is $8 for all teachers taking full lessons.
If you are taking standby lessons, you will be approximately paid $4. You will be paid a bonus of $1 per lesson if you have taken a minimum of 15 lessons in a week.
VIPKID vs QKids Comparison
Hiring Process: QKids has a better and easier hiring process as compared to VIPKID. VIPKID has a time-consuming process, and you have to complete mock lessons before being able to apply to VIPKIDS. When compared on the basis of hiring process QKids is better than VIPKID.
Requirements: Though the basic requirements for both VIPKID and QKids are similar, VIPKID does not ask you for a TESOL certification whereas for applying to QKids you have to obtain a TESOL or TEFL certification from a 3rd party.

Minimum work hours: VIPKID does not have a set of minimum hours while minimum working hours is set at QKids. VIPKID offers flexibility when it comes to working hours.

- Payments are timely and in full. You get paid using either direct deposit or PayPal. The base rate is $8 for half an hour of class plus added bonuses for attending 15 plus classes in a week.
- A trainer will be assigned to you who will guide you through the teaching process and the methods throughout the curriculum.
